A New Season
These past few months have brought transitions and additions to House of Hope, including the launch of a new location in Sterling Heights.
Sterling Heights is a community that I have personally been invested in for several years, and now I get the privilege of calling it home.
Around the same time that I moved into our Oxford trailer, I started going to a church in Troy and before long I began working there on staff part-time. Splitting my time between Troy and Oxford was not ideal but I genuinely love both communities. I had actually never intended on being in Oxford for six whole years, but as we all know, sometimes God’s plan looks a little different. The last six years have held a ton of hurting, loving, learning, and growing, for not only myself but the entire community, and what a blessing it has been to be in such good company.
Since purchasing our new trailer in Sterling Estates in August, I have gotten to start the process of meeting and getting to know my neighbors. We have also met teachers, and law enforcement, and have started reaching out to local businesses and churches. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for House of Hope as we enter into this next chapter. In this transition, I have felt so much spiritual peace (not worldly peace, moving is chaos) and I have been feeling a refreshed excitement and energy for everything that being a People Plant entails.
As for Oxford, we are equally as excited to announce that Brooke has moved into the community and House of Hope will continue to be present as we have been for years. After her year at the farm, she is excited to jump back into a People Plant role and breathe new life into our Oxford location.
If you have any questions about either of these transitions, please feel free to ask away! If you have connections in Oxford, Clarkston, or Sterling Heights, we would love to grab coffee and make new friends. All in all, we are just feeling so blessed and blown away by the doors that keep opening for House of Hope and we can’t wait to see what is next.
